Umbrian Cuisine

There are many pleasures to experience in Umbria and one of the best is the Umbrian cuisine. Umbrians are passionate about most everything so it is no surprise that dining is much more than ‘just eating’, it is truly an event. The fresh produce, the local family recipes handed down through generations, the regional wines and good friends – all important ingredients for the most enjoyable time of the day – mix together passionately and you have a typical Umbrian meal.

Catered Dining

Our local chef will provide a memorable evening for you and your friends – preparing the table, preparing and serving each ‘piatto’ using the freshest ingredients.

We can propose a menu with consideration of your preferences. Generally, an Umbrian dinner consists of the following courses:

  • Antipasti – an assortment of appetizers - cold meats, cheese, pate, olives etc.
  • Primi piatti – usually a pasta, rice dish or, soup
  • Secondi piatti – meat, fish or vegetarian dish
  • Insalata – Italians serve salad at the end of the meal
  • Dolce – dessert or sweets
  • Fruit/cheese – optional, but an enjoyable way to linger at the table after dinner

Below are two sample menus – we have many more and of course, we can assist you with creating your own:

“We really enjoyed our 2 weeks in Todi/ Le Mandorelle.   It was a terrific experience, and we look forward to getting back there in the future.  The great addition to the stay was having you and Laura assist us. Many thanks.”
